There are a number of ways to get your friends together to play poker online during this COVID crisis, or if you have a group of buddies that are not co-located.
The best way to do it is with an online poker host and include a zoom call so that you can make it more social.
There are not as many options as you may think to to host such an event, but the easiest way is with one of the big online poker websites/programs like Pokerstars.net or 888poker. Unfortunately 888 poker is not available in the United States and Pokerstars.net is pretty burdensome (requires a computer, you can’t play private games on your phone, and there is significant administrative activity to create an account). So if you are in the United States, Pokerstars.net is the best option and as long as all of your players are moderately computer savvy you should be able to get a game going.
Pokerstars.net has a pretty rudimentary interface, but it is simple to use and navigate. Pokerstars also has the club feature that will allow you to set up your own club and play private games. Again, a pretty simple interface.
If you don’t have a group to play with and are just looking for a cash game, then there are a number of good websites, the easiest is pokerist.
